The first picture is my Acura RL(09) tail light.
You can see the right side light doesn't turn on.
However, in the second picture, the Right side light turns on.

Which one is normal?
I'm not sure which one is normal status cause I can't compare it with other RLs.
I have never seen the other RL's light on the night in my city.

What does the LH side do??

 

It's simple, 1 LED burned out because of which the rest do not light up, you need to open the taillight and replace this LED.

 

LH Side also doesn't turn on!

Does anyone, know what bulb type RL uses?
I can't figure the bulb size out.....
Owners manual tells just "LED"....
Not turn signal bulb..

 

Pull the bulb and take it to an auto parts store or dealer to get the correct one

 

The turn signal should be amber 7440NA, but the lide marker lights do not work for you, in order to check them you need to make sure that the voltage comes to the lights, if it passes, then you need to saw the housing and re-solder the faulty LEDs.
If, with the lights on, the taillight lights up, then 12 volts comes through the red wire.

 

Are you sure those are actually tail lights & not US-spec side marker lights?

It may be that they're not legal (or legally-required) in South Korea. Most Hondas over here in Europe have them deleted - particularly the front (orange) ones which could be confused with turn signals.

 

I don't know about Honda Legend, but Acura RL is a US market car and should have side markers in the taillights.

 

They also tried to sell Acura RLs in China, Russia and other places - maybe SK too.

 

Only in the USA.

Everywhere else in the world it's sold as the Honda Legend, and most (all ?) other countries don't mandate the side markers.

 

Bafflingly, both versions were available simultaneously in Russia. Neither sold...

 

That is baffling ! I wonder if they had both Acura and Honda dealers competing over sales of the same cars

Honda Legend, the version of Asia, doesn't turn on the light of the left side (Honda Legends KB2).
Only USA version's (Acura RL) turn on the side.
After I realized, for the reason, I replaced my Asian version's tail lights with USA version's tail lights.

Now, It works...!

It's Honda-baffling, indeed. They were the same price, IIRC. Obviously, both were far too expensive...

Unsurprisingly, Акура didn't hang around there long...
