I was referring to my photochopped version. I know it's smaller looking vs the 2nd photo, don't vote them down just for that.

Personally, if you do quad, you'll just be mirroring the M35x...a clearly inferior car.

Dualies are fine, I would make the bigger though.

I was thinking C63 when I chose those.

As far as the comparison. You are comparing Quad to stock, I think people are comparing Quad to whatever they have in their mind...no good.

I don't want to change half my car for the exhaust, just the tips.

Don't do any construction work for an exhaust.. I like the dual tips, as long as they're a little bit bigger. It transforms the car quite a bit with that TINY mod.

Also, I don't think Infiniti at all when seeing the quad tips.. I think bad ass car.

I'm gonna look for sum quad tips on my RL pretty soon..

I can go 7" and those will go about 6.2" and 2.3" high.

Link me to staggered one's anyway. The one photochopped ran me less than $50 :-)

I'm going with the one pictured above, I saw the staggered one's and length was not listed. If the current one's don't work out...staggered will be on the to do list.

The 09 stock exhaust IMO is about the worst OEM tip to grace the roads in recent memory. Quad tips is subjective but sets it off nicely if done correctly. No need to go cat back, some good mufflers and tips will set you right. I got my tips for under $40 total from my local muffler guy. Everyone else wanted $90+ just for tips, so shop around.

The width is 7" for the staggered one, so on stock bumper won't fit unless you cut the bumper a little bit.

This will be my project next week, will let you guys how it turn out.

7" is the width of the current tips. That would fit for the 09, at least.

The problem might be the length.

the bumper opennings are not big enough to fit good size duel tips on each side.... if you get 2 tiny cigarettes sticking out, might as well not have them.... i think if the opennings are an inch or 2 bigger, u might be able to do what type S TL have.... big quad tips

3.5" duo would fit just fine. I already had the car raised and checked. The problem was that 12" tip was too freaking long. That would be 3-4" beyond the bumper.

and those big tips doesn't touch or line up against the bumper? the tips can be cut... but you might want to make sure there are enough space between the tips and the bumper, cuz the heat might mess up the bumper paint... have u ever seen those mod up civic with big ass exhaust and burn mark all around the bumper.... we don't want that to happen to a sweet 09 RL......

i've looked into this cuz I want to extend the tip I have it flush with the RL A-Spec rear under spoiler (I've seen pix of someone did this mod, Now I can't find it)... and the other time I was gonna put quad tip into my TL.... I'll need to get the 07+ type S rear underbody spoiler to fit the type S quad tips.... for TL the difference b/w quad tip opening (8") and single tip opening (6") is a good 2".... someone on the TL side had good picture between the 2.... I guess that's why we are all skeptical about fitting duel tips on a single tip opening...

I will be going with the tips above, which will be 6.2". I will post pics once it's done to show you how much room is left over.

Personally, I like the quad tip look, but I'd be super-stoked to just have an oval tip that looks better than ours. The 5Zigen tip in oval... that type of thing (no colors, give me nickel).

I actually abolished my quad setup today, finding some nicer tips which filled out the bumper opening better, more aggressive appearance, and a bit different from the crowd. Nothing wrong with the quad setup, just see it too many times on the freeway everyday on various cars so I had them chopped off, received a little credit for them, and had the new tips installed which I believe are keepers. One of these days I will post some pics. $60 each but satisfaction is priceless.

Quads look cheesy IMHO.

Of course, the stock tips are...ah...designed by the same geniuses who came up with the...ah...appearance-challenged Power Phlegm grille. (I am trying hard to be politically correct here.)

Yet of the two, even with the weird shape, I would stick with two good-sized rather than four teensy exhaust outlets.

I like them, I think the opening in the 09 is wider than the earlier RLs. My prior quads were round whereas yours appear slightly oval.

Glad you went with the consensus, as that looks A LOT better, especially on your model. I love the 09's back side...
