Select the SETUP button on the center stack.

Navigate the menus for OWNER INFORMATION.

You can edit and delete from there.

I find it alarming the dealer did not do this as part of the CPO. It is also a security issue to the previous owner.

Based on the various postings you are adding out here with issues, I find your dealer's CPO process questionable. Be sure to list all these details and have the dealer address. Should you get a call from Acura Customer Service, I would question the CPO on your RL.

All in all, it will be fine, as warranted. But annoying you have to follow up on these nagging details.

And for the record....do you have BOTH manuals for the RL? Operator and Navigation manuals.

I had the same issue with a CPO RL I bought in October. I reported it to Acura corporate, who insists it should have been cleared, but I'm guessing it's not happening that often (I also had all the phone entries listed).

I can only imagine someone using the hands free to call "home" (if people still have home phones) to make sure no one is there, then us the navi to go "home", and finally using the Homelink to open the garage. Bad Acura, very bad.

Thanks much, yes i understand this. I was surprised myself. But i have the CPO papers to prove it. Even my brakes were soft and i made a comment about that and it still felt the same way driving home. They had to order the Owners manuals, new car warrenty manuals, ACPV booklet and other booklets All season mats etc. So Technically i have none of these things until next week. Should i call ACURA corporat and complain about this.?

I had some typos and other questions: Thanks much, yes i understand this. I was surprised myself. But i have the CPO papers to prove it even my brakes were soft and i made a commented about that and it still felt the same way driving home. They had to order the Owners manuals, new car warrenty manuals, ACPV booklet and other booklets All season mats etc. So Technically i have none of these things until next week. Should i call ACURA corporate and complain about this on Monday? also at 38,000 miles should they have changed the Tires and rotors? (Rotors on the CPO: LF 24mm RF 24 mm, LR 16mm RR16mm.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I purchase a new car and I'm trading in or selling my current vehicle, I remove everything unique to me before I let it go to someone else. No way would I trust some minimum wage flunky to take care of that. Hell, I even clear the radio stations.

I am sure you have a CPO. I just don't think the dealer did their CPO 'checklist' and are relying on you to ferret out any nagging issues to be rectified. You are already doing so. In the end, I am sure your RL will be fine as it is under warranty with the CPO.

Do yourself a favor. RESEARCH this forum for all TSBs and issues that pertain to your RL. If any are observed on your RL, take it to the dealer with TSB evidence in hand and make it clear you expect it to be addressed, and should have been as a CPO vehicle.

Until your manuals come in here are the pdf copies for your reading pleasure:

Operator manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...606MAINIXA.pdf

Navigation Manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...606NMAINID.pdf

I might also suggest registering your RL on MyAcura.com where not only these manuals can be referenced, it has operating tips, video clips and troubleshooting information. You will need your VIN, NAVI Code and Radio Code to register. You can also manage your AcuraLink messaging (if you utilize) and dealer connect information.

My point about Acura Customer Service was not to question if your RL is CPO (I am sure it is, and will be honored)....but more so to point out the lack of diligence your dealer did with that certification. they have checklists to perform that all is 'as new' in vehicle operation and features. Obviously they did not do this with any detail. Now YOU are doing it for them. Still...for your own peace of mind, research and apply what you find for your RL to the dealer. Be firm, respectful and professional. Let them know you are informed and expect them to carry out what is expected in a CPO vehicle.

Window switches, power door lock sensors, etc are minor nagging details, but they SHOULD have been corrected BEFORE selling the vehicle as CPO.

Absolutely!

I NEVER expect or trust anyone to manage (remove) my personal information. Cars, computers, cell phones, PDA, Homelink, Remotes, etc, etc, etc.

I think it is very important to build a good relationship with your dealer if you expect to use it for service. Since we are discussing CPO issues, you will need to use an Acura dealer. And Acura dealers are often inconsistent in service levels.

This would be my approach in your situation:

1. Research - identify any issues with your RL. Find any corresponding TSBs that address them (this forum will have it all). Sure...print them and keep on hand.

2. Approach your local dealer. I would take the tact they you bought a CPO from another dealer and are dissatisfied with the CPO due diligence done to the car and you have some issues you would like resolved. Your hope is that they can address these issues (door locks, window switches...whatever else you find). Give that dealer a chance to be the 'good guy' and make you a happy Acura customer (and THEIRS). Let them know you want to be their service customer as they are local to you and not the dealer you purchased from.

3. Let them know what issues you have found (that should have been part of the CPO!). They are warranty items so it is a win-win for you and that dealer. Acura gets the bill, you get the fixes and the dealer gets paid. Give the dealer a chance to rectify them without pulling out the TSBs you have researched. It will help you evaluate how diligent that dealer is and not always need to second guess them.

4. If that dealer cannot rectify an issue where there is a TSB...pull it out. Show them you have done your homework. It gives them a second chance to do the right thing, do it right and not let is slide (as the dealer who sold you the CPO RL did).

5. Work it out, professionally, informed and with hopes of building a good dealer relationship. It will pay dividends going forward when you take the RL in for service. I challenged my dealer once, only once and now they go the extra mile for me everytime I go for service.

It is unfortunate we have to go through such steps to get what should have been done from the get go. But too often dealers are not informed, consumers are not informed and missed expectations turn sour. And of course, there are too many willing to take advantage and hope it slides by.

I do my research. I build relationships with my dealer. And I am very, very happy with both my RL and my dealer experience. The few times I engaged Acura Customer Service, they followed up appropriately and concisely. But it has been an effort on both sides of the table.

I did this when I traded my RL in, it's a great convenience to the next owner as well as safer for you in this time for which ID theft is common.

In addition, on the RL, to tell the nav the directions to "home" I set my home address to require a password to access it, just in case it was stolen.
