Congrats. I won't hate on the TL, having owned two of them myself. OTOH, I guess we can't teach you the secret 2G RL handshake.

Hah, maybe in the future, after I finish my residency. I do disagree that the RL is over-rated. I'm going to suggest it for my father when he next needs a car. I plan on keeping this TL for 2-3 years, and it'll be a fun commuter.

Update - I pulled the trigger. I found an 06 Carbon Grey Pearl/Ebony RL and fought the dealer on a dope trade-in value on my white 6mt TL. Even though I enjoyed driving the TL a lot, I just wasn't in love with it...maybe because I already had a TL before, maybe because I disliked the color combo after a short while, and maybe because I'd always had my eye on the RLs...but I waited very patiently for an RL and everything just came into place within a few days...very very suddenly and it worked out well.

The dealer of course tried to lowball me on my trade, but I made them give me Manheim price, which is fair enough.

Being used, I do need to sort out a few things - the sunroof opens and closes very slowly. I'm not sure if it's the motor or just something caught in the tracks. The Handsfreelink doesn't work...but it never worked in my other Acuras either. And finally a couple of nicks and marks here and there which I'll worry about in the spring.

I am also on the hunt for black all season mats - where do most people get them? The black market always has a few for TLs...but nothing so far for RLs.

Of course, 105k service will come up very fast given the amount of miles I drive.

Any advice is appreciated. Here is a quick clipping of 3 random pics I took in the ice rain...more will eventually get posted.

Thanks!

Guss - pretty sure the dealer is trying to sell it now, but yes if we had traded it would've been a lot easier hah

Good move. My TL had awful wind noise. My RL is incredibly quiet.

Crazy quiet...eerie almost. My thoughts on the TLs vs RL? The TLs were faster, especially the 6mt, but you don't really care when you're in the RL...you're coddled by luxury all around you, and you get the feeling that the engineers and the workers who built your car had you in mind - the softness of the headrests, the feel of all of the materials your hands touch, the simple solutions to simple overlooked problems (illuminated door handles, etc) just take it to a different level.

I don't miss my faster TLs...owning this car is a crazy experience.
