Passenger window wenr defunct!

Strange thing happened yesterday...

It was a warm day here in Jersey. I powered open
the driver and passenger windows to get some fresh
air.

The problem? The passenger window would not power
back up from the driver door handle switch. I was able
to power it up and down by leaning over to the passenger
side and using its switch.

So, now 7 months into my '05 RL and the driver's switch for the
passenger window will not work.

Anyone see this type of problem before -- and do you think
it will be a major thing to have Acura fix?

Could be a blown fuse, but more likely the relay switch in the drivers door is gone. Should be covered under warranty, and it's a minor issue.

Ya know... I'm in South Jersey -- and the driver's door window on my car stopped working automatically, too... I have to hold it for a while to make it go up and down.

Wonder if it's related somehow to the storm we had? Anyway, my driver's window has been wonky since Thursday....

I've always liked how German the new RL feels, but I don't know if I can appreciate these German-reliability symptoms. Aren't BMW, Mercedes, and Audi products notorious for having window switches go bad?

Dont know about the original poster, but for jftjr, you need to reset your auto windows.

I've owned 3 Audis and never had a window switch fail. Maybe I was the exception, but I doubt it given I had those 3 cars for a total of 12 years.

How do I do that?

I searched the site and saw a thread that had something along the lines of sitting in the backseat, using both window switches, and simulataneously rubbing my belly, patting my head, and playing a pair of cymbals with my knees. Is that it?

I mean, I tried the "citizen's divorce" trick but it didn't work.

Very minor issue - it's not the engine or anything

Old thread I know, but I just got this problem as the original poster notes. Guess a trip to the dealer is in order. Did it end up being the relay ?

My '01 BMW had 3 blown power window relays and the driver's window had to be realigned twice. I had a 2 door...Not pleasant considering it was my weekend ride ('01 Z3 3.0i).

Hopefully this is just a minor inconvenience.

Just curious, how long did this minor problem take to fix?

Sorry to hear that this problem is still present on 2006 RLs.
