Overhead light stays on?

I left my overhead light (in the upper console) on overnight by mistake and drained the battery! I was surprised that this would not be timed to go out after awhile. Is that the same on your RL?

I haven't seen this yet with my RL, but I will try to test it tonight. Did you lock the car after getting out of it?

Garage kept so no, I don't believe the car was locked.

Got it, that's what I thought. I ran a test tonight by pressing the "ON" button and exiting the car. If I didn't lock the car, the "dome" light would stay on past the exterior light auto shutoff timer. I guess it won't eventually shutoff based on your experience. If I locked the car all of the interior lights shutoff right away. I would expect the light to shutoff after an hour or so even without locking, looks like the Acura engineers overlooked this one...

That seems really strange. My RL is always in the garage overnight, never locked, and my overhead light always shuts off after XX seconds (don't remember exactly how many). That's the way it is set up. You know you can program that yourself... right?

Turn the dome light on and then exit the car without locking it. Then see if you still have power in the morning.

Oh, obviously I misread the question but THANKS FOR POINTING IT OUT. In that case, I wouldn't expect the dome light to go out automatically if I left it on. The RL does quite a bit for the driver, but...

That is exactly right. I found same thing too; if I push the lock button on the remote, lights turn off. Problem is when you pull into your garage, turn the light on to read something, and forget to turn off the light (but don't lock). Both the front and rear ceiling lights are on and draining your battery. This should have a 15 minute shut off feature imho, too easy to do! I will be more careful in the future obviously, but I will be mentioning this to Acura.
