Old Legend/NSX ad
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=g6EbLaX2oh8&feature=user
Now THIS is a brand-building ad from the early 90's with both NSX and Legend, without the lower-end Acura products to muddy up the waters. Here's hoping Acura brings back the NSX sooner than later, then remakes this ad to push the next RL. Man, where are the ads like this from Acura nowadays?
I just thought we needed something to cheer us up around here after the dismal launch of the RL's MMC.

Actually I just mentioned this in car talk but does anyone here think the new MDX ad is really good? The one where they go "it wasnt bmw lexus mercedes etc it was the Acura that won carandrives comparsion." I think acura needs way more commericals like that.

Now this is the type of Advertising they need to throw out there...
I hadn't seen this commercial until you said something. Good on them.

I would like to see Acura return a bit more to the roots of great engineering and precision craftmanship. That is what the NSX and LEGEND brought to the table.
The technology features are nice, but the Advance campaign is more about technology than well engineered automobiles. I think they need to focus on the integration of the two, otherwise Acura comes across as Best Buy on Wheels.
Somehow the technology trend has become the forefront of automobile marketing. Not that it is a bad thing, but technology is too disposable to be the foundation for a brand. It will not wear long term for consumer. Return to solid, well though out engineering and precision craftmanship, and then they can bolt on all the technology accessories they want.

Great used car for a family tho.

a 2000 RL? Like an NSX? Only for people actively using crack. The 2G RL, however.....with SH-AWD, that is a slightly more realistic claim. Acura might have gotten some mileage out of that ad, at least with current Acura owners.
