Oil Consumption

Did anyone check their oil before their first oil change? I noticed that mine used quite a bit of oil. I attribute this to 'engine burn in period'... or they just didn't fill it correctly from the factory.
Has anyone noticed this besides me? I looked at my garage floor and there aren't any drips or leaks.

Did not notice any oil burning on our 06RL. Oil level was always at the full mark when I checked it. Not unusual for a new eingine, but not sure if the Acura's do this. My 06TSX did not use a drop either. I would not worry much till after breakin and first oil change. Keep an eye on it after the first change ans see how it goes. My 06 miata used some oil before first change, but seems to be much better now.

1-2 Quarts between oil changes

I have an 05RL with 40K miles. I have to put in 1 or 2 quarts between oil changes.

I believe most VTEC motor equipped Hondas tend to burn oil during the break in. My S2000 burned a quart of oil every 1500 which was totally normal. On the RL, only between my first and second oil change did I see the motor burn half a quart. Then again, I kept the factory stuff in there for almost 5000 miles.

VTEC will burn oil, especially if you tend to go high in rpm
My previous s2000 burned oil all the time.
