So I'm still brainstorming on my head unit setup and I'm hoping the climate control system is accessible via OBD2 modules so I can run an android climate control app with my USB dongle to the OBD2 port. Anyone know what the protocol is and what modules are available...Screenshots and Dongle recommendations would also be awesome.

Wondering about what protocol this car uses because a lot of the dongles are finicky with anything pre-CANBUS. Most CANBUS was only fully incorporated in 2008, but it's a good sign I think that I was able to plug and play the 2010 climate control button panel into my 05, and might mean they used it early, given that it's a luxury model.

I'm gonna run OBD2 to the head unit anyway, but it'd be totally awesome if I can get this win, because if I can get it to work for climate control display I'll no longer have need of the nav screen or the nav selector portion of the stock head unit, which opens up a lot of options
