It should be very similar to the Accord's auto climate control. The system is pretty much flawless (at least for me), always keeping the temperature right on.

I'd be curious if the systems weren't the same.

As is the auto-climate control or the vent unit as a whole?

Auto is fine, I just wish we could direct which direction the air goes. I have a NAV so as a whole unit, it is OK. I have to toggle between the MAP and the AC to control the vents. Not a big deal though, just takes a bit of finessing to get it right.

I mean is there some features that you wish you had that the TL doesn't have? Also do the controls work how you'd expect them to?

No complaints. Dual-zone would have been nice, but it's not a big deal.

Dual Zone is probably the only thing it's missing (which isn't a big deal), otherwise, it's a pretty sweet system....

Just a thought:

dual zone control..let say one person is cold..and one person is hot...

you blow cold air on one side, and blow warm air on the other... the passenger and driver's sides are connected. This mean, what will be the temperature in the car? It (the temp) will always reach equilibrium... Doesn't it mean more work for ur car?

Maybe i m getting the wrong idea of dual zone..

I wish I could tell "auto" to leave recirc on all the time. I don't like the fresh-air because I always get behind some smelly truck and have to hit the recirc button.

Not a big deal though.

Question

Did you guys notice that the manual says you should not turn off the climate controll/fans for too long a period of time?
I thought that was wierd, since if I'm not using the A/C I turn the cllimate control off.

That is not what dual zone is. Dual zone refers to different climate control for front and rear. Very useful for minivans and large SUVs, totally pointless in a car the size of the TL.

Actually, dual zone is left/right front passenger. Some new minivans and SUVs have three zone, which is front left, front right, and rear.

Cool

I've had 5 previous vehicles with automatic climate control, but this is the first one that I have been able to leave on one temperature without having to adjust it. On other vehicles I found that I would constantly be fiddling with the temperature because I would get cold/hot. Also i live in Louisiana which is unbelievable hot and HUMID. This system cools extremely fast which is very important to me. BTW, you can set it to be partially automatic. If you want to adjust the fan speed yourself or put it on recirculate, you can and the remaining systems will work automatically. I rate it a perfect 10. Also, Dual zone is highly overated. It is no more practical than closing a vent if one person is hot or cold.

Might be a good idea in lA, but there are safety issues if a CO leak were to occur, and in the wintry climates, you see morons all the time driving their Camrys with the recirc slider on, and it looks like the interior of a greenhouse as their outgassing causes the air to foul and condense on the windows.

They are easy to spot - feverishly rubbing the sidewindows with their hands, or using their hair when the CO knocks them into a coma.
