New York City Video - 1st ave, 42nd St, Grand Central, Times Square

Here's a 9 minute video I recorded with Canon 5D Mark II low resolution w/ Canon EF 50MM 1.4 Lens.

I had to convert the video into 2.5mbit format, so this is not "out of camera" quality. Original was recorded in 18Mbit.

Nice video. I noticed the taxi drivers drive like they are in tanks. I assume they drive those crown vics like they stole 'em

RESPECT THE CABBIES and go with the flow. You aint getting anywhere in THAT city with an attitude, thats for sure.

I don't know about respecting the cabbies as they respect nothing but money.

I dump the car into S mode and prepare for anything, that's my mindset when going through NY.

I say "Respect" because they have nothing to loose. You do!

Hey Leo, how did you secure your camera to minimize shake? Have been trying to make videos in my car using a StickyPod but there's too much shake even with that.

Nice job, BTW.

I used a $6 sticky pad on an even surface right in front of the steering wheel. No image stabilization.

Not one damn side-street parking space in 9 mins. God's got to love the South.

screw the cabbies.

I had forgotten what it was like to drive up north until I went back up to nyc nj pa last Thanksgiving.

Driving down in FL makes you soft. People down here get confused by a 4 way stop. When I went back up northh I was like, "Finally people that know what to do at a 4 way stop."

Cool vid man. going to see if I can take the kids to tme square again this summer.

Hm. I think I'll have to try that. I have been using the StickyPod, and with the suction cups, there's too much vibration to get perfect images, even with the camera's image stabilization AND stabilization algorithms in iMovie. I am less than impressed so far. I've got a Canon HF200 HD camera, VERY light, should work with this thing.
