Question Need some help........

As many of you know, there are very few performance upgrades available beyond the avg. intake and exhaust. I was screwing around on E-Bay the other day and saw an auction for a performance chip that was "for the 05+ RL". I question the validitity of this, being the RL is so far advanced computer wise, and I, as well as many fellow gearheads will agree that a chip doesnt increase power that much on a car without forced induction of some sort. So I pose my question to all of you, is it worth the risk to try this chip and risk serious ECU damage for all of 15hp(at the most) ????????

No. Don't bother, it will void your warranty on parts of your RL and won't do crap. Remember, the engineers did a lot of R&D to tweek every extra bit of HP they could from the car.

All of those "chips" on ebay are just resistors that trick the air flow sensor, via a constant voltage, into thinking that the air coming into the intake is colder then it is which allows the car to run leaner. This can defintely damage your engine and isn't worth the risk at all. Also it will NOT give you anywhere near 15hp anyway.

Yeah I figured that it wouldnt do crap. I'm just used to being able to find go-fast goodies for my Cobra, that I guess I've become jaded.

Huge downside risk with little upside potential.
