Last night did a number, hopefully it isn't totalled. The storms here in the south were rough.

Man, that is some serious damage!

You are about to find out how good of an insurance policy you have.

wow thats brutal, by the looks of that trunk and the dents on the back of it (not just on top) you must have gotten some serious wind.

I'd also like to know where you live.

There were tornadoes

I'm in Knoxville, TN. Yeah there were tornadoes, but thankfully none in my immediate area.

It was nuts, hail piled up like snow in 80 degree weather. I have more pictures to show, but internet is down and the cell is slow. I'll update it later. Suffice it to say, it looks like my car got shot with a machine gun. Every piece of trim has at least 3 dents, even the chrome.

I'm actually not as devastated as you'd think. I took great care of this car and am very proud of it. My insurance is comprehensive, thankfully. I know exactly where to go next if they can't fix it up- to get another one of these.

Glad to hear you are safe, I'm with you let insurance deal with it and if you have to start over find another one.

This is why I'm optimistic- the front windshield is only cracked. There are golf ball holes all over the place, but if they can pop those out, I should be as good as new. No idea what the water damage is though..

Your sunroof looks almost unscathed. True? The mirrors also?

This is one of my worst fears with weather+cars. Sorry to hear it.

It was. Extreme wind blowing into the back windshield. The trunk is a warzone, and who knows what the water damage is to the electronics in the back, speakers, motorized sunshade, etc. But they may be able to help me out here. We'll see.

On of the other cars in the lot had hail punch straight through into the trunk.

Okay.. After seeing the new pics.. Your car is definitely a "total loss". My fiance works for a major insurance company, and she says yes... The body work and or water damage is to great.. Mainly the body damage... over 80% of you car has damage.... Look at the bright side... You have a "new" car in your future...

I heard on the news hail the size of grapefruit. I guess you proved it.
Hurts to look at those pics.
Make sure you post pics of the replacement.

WOW, sorry to hear, I wouldn't want the metal reworked and weakened through PDR, I would want new panels and just get the whole car repainted at a rep. shop.

^ good point ... also there is going to flex in the paint which may cause it to slowly chip off ... a full repaint/ new body panels will prob cause the car to be totaled out

Holy shit!! Good luck on the insurance claim; it looks like the south got devastated in this storm. You going to replace it with another RL if it's totaled?

Poor RL. Hope you are taken care of. Mostly glad you weren't hurt...300+ people died in this round of bad weather, so better the car than you!

Glad I live near Lake Erie where the worst we get is snowstorms.....and snow always melts eventually.

For Future reference, the adjuster stopped totalling at $13,500 in damages, and gave me $19,500.

Total loss.
