A couple of questions as I am conducting research. Does this kit come pre-painted or not ? I am getting mixed answers. Those of you who have purchased pre-painted what is your opinion of the color match ? If you purchased un painted how much did you pay to have the kit color matched ? Thank you for your time.

 

You can get it painted or unpainted depending on who you buy it from. If you buy it painted, you won't get a perfect match. I had it painted and installed for about $1300 by M&S Collision. Perfect color match.

FYI - the mugen kit is not cheap. I think it's in the $2-3k range JUST for the kit unpainted. then you pay another $1300-1500 to get it painted and installed.

you can get the OEM aspec kit - which DOES come prepainted, for around $1000 and maybe another $500 labor...odds are you could maybe get it margially cheaper if you shopped around...but for sake of comparison..

$1500 for the OEM kit installed.
$5000 for the Mugen kit - painted/installed.

NO doubt the Mugen kit looks better - I like it better than the OEM kit..but if I was going to add a kit, for the huge difference in price - I'd go OEM. it still looks awesome.

you can also mix/match. I think someone here did the Mugen FRONT but mixed in aspec sides and/or rear...and the Mugen spoiler...it looks great... the Mugen FRONT is likely the most noticeable aspect of the kit that is diffeent from the aspec kit... as well as teh spoiler..

if you want the look of the Mugen kit, but want to try and keep it more affordable - maybe do that - mix/match some parts...

good luck. the RL is a rare car...RL's with the lip kits are ULTRA rare and hardly any RL owners bother to pu on the kit or mod them in any way whatsoever... you wil have a truly unique and awesome looking car!

make sure to put on larger 18-19" wheels and lower it. once you add the kit the car will look weird w/out those to complement the lip kit.
