Transmission Filter on RL?

So, tonight I'm at PepBoys picking up a cabin filter and noticed in the Purolator application book that there is some sort of in-line magnetic transmission filter. Purolator parts P1319/P1320, which differ in the inlet/outlet sizes (0.3125 vs. 0.375 lengths). Has anyone installed one of these and what's the maintenance schedule for doing so? Also, how does one know which inlet/outlet length is appropriate?

Thanks!

Here's a link to what the filter looks like, taken from the Puralator pop-up:

correct me if wrong, but a while back I think I remember reading that our trans filters are actually inside the transmisson and the only way to replace it is to take the tranny apart.... I may be incorrect though can't remember

i think what cbrose saw is an aftermarket external filter.
RL does have an OE ATF filter but i dont know if it's easily accessible. the part diagram does not show much. but when i ask serviceguy at dealers told me they are inside the transmission and can not be replaced.
