Metalic clank when I close the driver door

Hey All,

So as the subject says, when I close my driver door with the window up, there is a metalic clanking noise heard inside the door. It's somewhat muted when the window is up, and much louder when the window is down.

My question is this, how difficult is it to get into the door (would you recommend it as a DIY?) Also, any ideas as to what I would be looking for once I get inside?

The dealer is 20+ miles away so I'm trying to avoid the trip if it isn't necessary. It's more annoying than anything else at this point, but I'm not quite sure if its something major or not. And it's only on the driver door.

It's an 05 that's out of warranty.

Sounds like somethings loose on the regulator assembly. Is the window going up or down smoothly? It would be worth it just to remove the panel and see if anything is obviously loose.

Maybe someone with a service manual can instruct you on how to remove the door panel. You can probably do it with a flat head screwdriver.

Well the sounds got significantly worst this week... my wife pointed it out as she's been driving it to work this week.

The window is going up and down just fine, but it sounds really bad when you close the door. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow for them to look into it.
