Im having a slight issue with my memory seat with my 06 RL. I saved my settings and they work correctly from the button on the door. Seat, mirrors and steering wheel move to the proper positions. When I shut the car off, or unlock with the FOB the seat does not move at all, however the steering wheel does move.

What Im wanting to know is if there is any sort of reset for the memory seat module? Or possibly another issue. I have tried many times changing the settings just to see if it works and everytime I unlock the car the seat does not move, but the wheel will. The reason I ask this is, Im a Nissan/Jeep tech and when an issue like this comes about, usually the seat just needs to be reset and it works fine again. (on these particular vehicles) Basically what we have to do on those vehicles is, drive the seat all the way forward and hold the button for a few secs, drive it all the way back and hold and its reset. I checked in my All-data for the car and cannot find any info on resetting the memory seat module, or any sort of info on it at all.

Any info would be appreciated.

 

I have an o5 RL, my seat does not move, only the steering wheel.

 

On my RL, when I shut the car off, the steering wheel automatically retracted but the seat didn't move at all. When unlocking with the same key fob, the seat remained in the same position I left it. If I moved the seat for some reason, like cleaning, and I locked up afterward, the seat didn't move. However, when I unlocked, whether with the key fob or by using the door handle, the seat automatically moved back into place.

I'm not sure there's a problem there.

As far as a reset, there is indeed a reset done at the dealer. You can cheat and unplug the battery, but that's not healthy for the electronics. The dealer has a little computer they hook up to the car and that's how they do the reset....or that's how my service tech explained it to me.

Ok guys. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was under the impression that the seat was supposed to move back when the car is shut off along with the wheel (most cars with memory seats do this). Im guessing it is functioning properly if its doing the same for all you guys.
