Maintenance Minder question about B25

Hello All,

This may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway.

I did my timing belt in June and also replaced the water pump, thermostat and of course engine coolant, that was A14 I beleive. This is what I read should be done as long as I was in there and had the TB off.

Now about 6000 miles later, the Maintenance Minder tells me I have to do a B25, which includes an oil and oil filter replacment, air filter and cabin air filter change and engine coolant change. Is this right? Can I just ignore the engine coolant bit since it was done about 6000 miles ago?

I'm guessing Acura does not expect a water pump changed with the TB and that is why it does not expect the coolant to be new.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Tom

This should help you...

Acura Service Codes

A: Replace Engine Oil

B: Replace Engine Oil and Filter. Inspect various systems and components

1: Rotate Tires and check tire pressure and condition

2: Replace air cleaner element, check drive belt and replace dust and pollen filter

3: Replace transmission fluid and transfer fluid (if equipped)

4: Replace spark plugs, replace timing belt (if equipped), inspect water pump, and inspect value clearance

5: Replace Engine Coolant

6: Replace rear differential fluid (if equipped)

The maintenance minder is just a pre-programmed schedule. If you changed the coolant at the last service, you don't need to do it again.

just got this tonight "B Service"

Should I ignore some of the services as some can be not needed to do? My RL is very well maintained however

This car does see 110mph pretty often and i do have the stereotype of Acura transmissions lol

What is your question? You should change your oil.

The B service includes oil change and some inspections.
inspect the car, fool!
check brakes(pads and rotors), brake fluid, double check oil if being changed, check transmission fluid, check tires, check VSA lines in tire wells, etc.

No shit on the standard services like oil and brake pads etc

What I'm saying is part of the B service is to replace the transmission and transtransfer case fluid.. what I'm asking is this something mandatory to do?
For example the computer sais replace oil and filter at 3500 miles but with good oil I replace mine at 7k miles.. so with the tranny fluid n transfer case is this something that must be done regardless of condition of the current fluid or it can wait?

^does the MID really give you 3500 OCI's??
the fuck are you doing, redlining everywhere!??!?

yo, its like... DO you want the car to last? yes or no?
if yes, change fluid when the computer says so.

I'm sure you can get away with a few thousand miles, but I wouldn't put it off for 5k or 10k miles later...

The oil change interval is 7,000 miles.

B service is oil change and INSPECTION. The trans and transfer case fluids have their own number for change interval.

The manual explains all of this.

"knows about bad Acura transmission"

"asks about ignoring transmission fluid service"

For transfer case and tranny fluid are we all using OEM or have we branched off into other brands like Amsoil, royal purple etc.
I want to touch up my RL a little put some tlc into it like polish headlights, fix a couple imperfections in the paint too

We had one member put Amsoil in his transmission, and within a year his differential had a hole in it.

True story.
