Maintenance Minder
On page 291 or 05 RL manual it is indicated that in addition of the Service Due Soon reminder letter there would also be a code number for other services needed.
My first service A1 was understood. Change Oil (A) rotate tires (1)
I have now reached 12,000 miles (don't drive much do I? but the miles are mostly
highway driving).
The Service due soon just illuminated with a "B" only, no number. Is that a possibility?
Makes sense to me that it should be possible but I understand the manual to indicate there would be a Letter and Number.

For instance, according to the service manual, the number "1" is rotate tires under the maintenance sub items and an "A" service by itself doesn't include rotating tires, so you could get an A1, which is oil change only with no filter and rotate tires, but a "B" service includes oil change *and* filter, rotating tires and "checking" a bunch of other stuff.
Clear as mud, huh?!
"A" service is an oil change only. "1" is tire rotation.
"B" service is oil and filter change, tire rotation, and inspection.
I would still recommend changing the filter at every oil change.

What was done for the "B" service and cost?
Thanks

Good to know that the MID is giving others about the same intervals. These are a LOT longer than I've historically gone.

I saw that, but what does it mean when it says "A16"? I don't see 16 anywhere so my question is whether this is the 16th A service reminder or does it mean that I need to do the A service + 1 service + and 6 service?
you are welcome. We just had a B 6 which is about the same and it cost about $240 in Salt Lake. Normally I do all my own maintenance but we were coming home from my dad's funeral in Arlington VA so we didn't feel like messing with it when we got home - and home was still a day's drive so we stopped. The dealer in Sacramento charges about the same. The differential uses special fluid from Acura now. There are a couple of threads on it.

Thanks everyone. I hate asking dumb questions but now I'll know how to read that thing as long as I own the car. I am having my aspec suspension installed today so my mechanic will rotate the tires and he already told me he'd change my oil for free for referring some friends to him. Also, my differential fluid was changed very recently. $280 for everything. Not bad, eh?
