Hey guys,

I just thought I would post an update. I purchased a 2007 RL Technology. I bought an American model and paid 13,000CDN plus taxes. The RL has 87,500 miles on it, it seems to run very strong and shifts very nicely. The car had one owner and he seems to have taken great care of the RL. I have every manual the car came with, even the window sticker! I was lucky to have found it, the owner is Canadian but lived in NJ for a few years where he bought the RL. The miles are mainly highway from his travel inbetween Canada and the US.

So far I am loving the car and there is only a few minor issues, the first is the door handles do not unlock and lock when you touch them. I knew about this issue before purchase, I am thinking of having it fixed but am a little weary as I have heard the issue is reoccuring. Do you guys think this can be a fuse? If so which ones should I look at?

Second issue is that after I got the battery changed when I press unlock twice and hold it down it no longer opens the windows and sunroof.

While I await replies I will search the forum as I am sure I will find something about these issues.

Oh and as for the navigation the owner bought a 'grey and white' disc and it has the maps for Canada and the US. It says Honda on the DVD but I am not sure if all the discs come like that.

Okay I found out about the window issue.

Where would you guys buy an extra keyfob from? The dealer here wants almost 500 plus programming. I've seen some on e-bay offering new OEM remotes for 179.

Sounds like a good deal, congrats. Do you have pics of your new purchase? As for the fob, you can find used ones on ebay for around 100 USD. Then you'll also need a new key insert (I think I've seen them for 30 USD or so), which has to be cut either by the dealer or any regular locksmith. Then both the fob and key have to be programmed, since either can start the car independently of the other. Not sure how much programming runs, but probably an hour of labor so $60-100.

I think it was a good deal, Canadian RLs seem to be selling for a lot more. A 2005 RL with 150,000kms is going for 16,000 asking so the owner would probably settle for 15,000.

I've attached some pictures of my RL.

So to fix the handles is it as easy as just replacing the handles myself? If so I am going to give it a try, does anyone have experience with this?

I checked the manual and there doesn't seem to be a fuse for this so it must be the handle. I have an Acura tech that will do it for 200 dollars but if it is what I think I believe it is worth doing myself.

Thanks

Thanks so much for the point in the right direction. I am going to call Acura and see how much they charge for the part. I have seen it on e bay from one supplier for about 200 dollars.
