if you don't wanna go with HID you can go with HIR or something like that...

If you want to try out HID, you can get a rapptor kit for $40 with 1 year warrantly from DDM Tunning or maybe the $75 kit with lifeime warranty.

The Bulbs type you mentioned are correct. Click for Hid kits on DDM Tuning website.

If you want a simple, swap-in bulb for your fogs to get them to a useful (in fog) yellow color, you can pick from several. I went with the Hoen "Endurance" yellows, direct from Hoen Lighting at http://www.hoen-usa.com/endurance.htm

^^^^best solution for fog or rain, even snow, useful yellow light provides greater visibility and less glare back to the driver. Lower color temperature, (2500-3000K) means more lumen output than white lights for the same wattage draw (55 watts for H11 fogs)

No argument that HID put out more lumens than incandescents. Remind me never to cut you off with 3 pairs of HIDs!

I cannot say for sure, since I have never driven behind HID fogs in bad weather, but my research leads me to believe that more purely yellow light, in bad weather, really have an advantage in bad weather due to the glare factor, and the low positioning. Not sure what super bright HIDs will do in the low position, could be just as good or better.

I am going after the selective yellow look (no French fry jokes!) for fog we get in the mountains and valleys I travel on occasion.

I am really pretty happy with the stock HID (if you adjust them up a little), and the instant on of the halogens in the high beams. Call me old school.

I dunno, my high beams are instant on too, not at full power/color, but definitely brighter than halogens.

As far as stock HIDs, mine are stock too with bluer bulbs...can never beat german light setup in a Japanese car.

And yes...being caught in front of me with an empty lane ahead of you would probably cause a burst of about 5500 lumens at 15 feet...for maybe 10 seconds after what you will have maybe 300 lumens worth of brake lights.
