Light Upgrades

Has anyone replaced their reverse lights with LEDs or something brighter than stock? Looking to brighten the reverse area up to help with the backup camera. Is it simple to do?

Also, any recommendations on new daytime running lights/high beam replacements? Mine are getting weak and yellow/orange - ish.

I personally run morimoto bulbs in my reverse lights and I like them. I have a set of sylvania leds that I also liked as well.

Do the Morimoto reverse bulbs hyperflash? Do I need the $20 hyperflash resistor? Any issues staying in the 7440 socket?

Sylvania leds for High/DRL?

The only situation you’ll have hyperflash when using LEDs is for turn signals. You don’t need that resistor. The bulbs are plug and play. No issues and I’ve had these bulbs in over 5 years.

I can’t really point you in the right directions with the DRL since my headlights are modified

if your reverse lights are hyperflashing, you have a bigger problem

I ended up going with Sylvania Silverstar Ultra, very simple to install so it was an easy DIY. My old bulbs (also Sylvania, but not Silverstar) were orange and fading. Now my DRL and high beams work great and much easier to see.
