Yep, tell me about it. But I love the depth of color once the imperfections are removed from the clear coat. I actually had the "Legend" badge for a while, I didn't want to slap it on until I got around polishing the car, which really helped in removing the "RL" residue/outline once the "RL" badge was removed.

I agree, the dark colors do show the depth and luster of the finish. And it also calls out that hand wet sanding finish as one of the overlooked details the RL offers. Any other car would show more orange peel than smooth luster on a detailed finish. On the flip side, dark colors call out every speck of dust, finger smudge, and defect in the finish on a cloudless day.

Funny thing is I always thought your RL was Opulent Blue Pearl from your avatar. I know NBP has blue hues in it. And maybe that mirror finish reflects some blue from the sky. But that liquid glass finish the RL has is so rewarding after a detail job....I stare at it more than some of the art in my home.

I played around with the color scheme for my avatar, I think I'll change it though, just for the sake of it, haha.

The polishing dust was a PITA to remove..

Almost a year after putting the Legend emblem on my RL, someone followed my into the parking lot, watched me park (in an end spot), and drove around to ask me if this was the new V8 Legend! I had to say, it's an RL with the Legend emblem it should have had all along. The Legend name had so much more cache; it didn't need to be explained -- people STILL know what one was/is, even 10 years after it was stupidly retired.

Here's hoping for the next one. V8 or not, it should still be called Legend -- a name that has plenty of equity. That said, I think the quality of the 2G TL made a name for itself, as did the 1G and now 2G MDX. So, just reserve the name for the top-line car and get it over with. Ohhhhh, why do I even try?
