L-009: CMBS/PAX question

I currently have a 2006 RL Technology package (which included the ACC/CMBS/PAX features) and am looking to upgrade to a 2007 or 2008 RL Technology package with CMBS/PAX.

Does anyone know if you can tell if CMBS is present by the difference in the Acura symbol on the grill for 07 and/or 08 models (as was the case in 06)?

Also, does anywhere that is selling any of those models? They seem very hard to find and the ones on the internet are suspect (given they have "normal" symbols).

Thanks,
Amesh

'07 & '08 CMBS models are pretty much the exact same as '06 models. They have the "blacked" Acura symbol on the front grille and have the extra ACC buttons on the bottom right of the steering wheel.

As far as searching for some, I would try searching the normal auto sites on the web (autotrader, cars.com, etc.)

Based on what I remember of the sales figures, assuming 10% of the total production was the ACC/CMBS/PAX trim, 2007's will be rare, and 2008's even more so, especially in comparison to 2006 models.

main tell tales of CMBS is the black sensor up front and a button inside to turn it on/off.

they are rare...I've seen 1 from the 2009/10 in the past 2 years other than mine.

It's easy to determine if the car has ACC or not. From the outside, the logo has a plastic covering that extends a few inches into the grille. On the inside, the steering wheel switch says 'ACC' instead of 'CRUISE' and there is a button to the left of the wheel that says 'CMBS OFF'.

CMBS+ACC come together. On steering wheel South-East beam has round button with car symbol and three chevrons under, it is for distance changing for CMBS+ACC. Easterm beam has square button "Main" for activating/deactivating of ACC.

P.S. Can not attach photo of my steering wheel unfortunately, do not see such an option.

My 2006 RL has all those features it was just that when I search on the internet for 07 and 08 versions that include the CMBS/PAX package many cars are labeled that version but the grill is the standard version. I just don't want to drive to find a car and realize that the dealer has mislabeled it (and it doesn't have CMBS/PAX).

Thanks.

Well then the photos are wrong. All RLs with CMBS/ACC have the visible grill difference with the plastic shield around the Acura logo in the front grill. Many sellers, EVEN Acura dealers may not know or check to see what trim car they are selling.
I think VIN # will also show the CMBS option, but not sure what # code to check.
Oh I see you have a CMBS 06. 07 and 08 looked exactly the same as 06 regarding CMBS.
good luck.
