keyless remote not dedected?

Lately its been 10*F and when i pick up a coworker and drop him off when he exits the pass door the warning keyless remote not detected starts flashing.

has anyone had this issue when pass leaves the vehicle while its running?

Replaced batteries in fob 2 weeks ago so batteries are good

I have had the issue since I bought the car. I would say 1 out of 20 times it will not recognize the fob when I walk up to the car to unlock it or try to start it, and even less than that it will give me this error while driving or in your situation. It is one of only two complaints I have for my car. Replacing the fob batteries did nothing. I even switched to fob 2 to try and isolate the issue and it does it with both. The only thing left is the sensor in the car. I am still under warranty, but the likelyhood of it happening with a tech is pretty small. Therefore, I haven't tried.

Let me know if it keeps up and if you resolve it. Once I get this fixed and the seal on my rear passenger side window fixed, I will have no complaints.

I just read Heavy's linked thread. I always keep my keys in the same pocket as my work phone.

Turns out carrying two iPhones is more hassle than I first realized.

keyless not detected on 05 RL

Thanks for the info. I sometimes keep my phone charger plugged into the center console port. After reading all the posts I removed my charger when not in use. I have not seen the "not deteced" warning since. I was saved the cost of replacing the remote batteries.

I can also tell you for a fact (after stripping my interior apart and removing my center console) that FOR SOME REASON the keyless entry system will not work if your center console outlets are disconnected from their harness, I guess it completes some circuit in order for keyless entry system to work. So I would not be surprised if having a charger plugged in that is using alot of current or is generating "noise" could cause the keyless access system to malfunction. Again you wouldn't think this would have anything to do with it since they should be on completely different fuses/circuits but it definitely does.
