keyless remote question

keyless remote question

Recently we've gotten a message on the dash that reads "keyless remote not detected". We had just started the car with the remote, and it was still sitting in one of the cup holders. We turned it off and restarted it, just to be safe. It worked okay, but gave us the message again. This has happened two or three times lately. Does this mean that we need a new battery? If so, anyone know what it takes?

Remote Transmitter Car

Avoid dropping or throwing the
transmitter.

Protect the transmitter from
extreme temperature.

Do not immerse the transmitter in
any liquid.

If you lose a transmitter, the
replacement needs to be
reprogrammed by your dealer

Replace the batteries if necessary.
Battery type: CR2025 (2 each)

Remove the built-in key.

Remove the upper half by carefully
prying on the edge with a coin.

Replace the old batteries with new
batteries. Place the batteries so the
+ side is facing up. Snap the two
halves of the remote case back
together.
