Key FOB Protector?

I see these on ebay:
I got one and it does fit the FOB well but I have seen others that have the actual key FOB buttons stamped into the leather.

Has anyone seen one like that for our rectangular FOB?

I am not sure why you would want to make the fob apparently twice as big as it presently is. My fob is always in a pocket or my briefcase and I never use it for remote control, it only has to be near the car when I lock or unlock the car. It is 7 years old and looks new due to it always being in a softly padded environment.
I recently test drove the Jaguar XJ and the fob is enormous and objectionable to carry in a pocket, even the salesman said it was a mistake that would probably be corrected in future models.

I have a small cloth pouch that the fob and rest of my keys go in. They fit in my pocket better that way and I don't get jabbed by keys. Key pouches like that are very common in Germany (which is where I got mine), and I think they make a lot of sense. I wouldn't want something as big and bulky as in the OP though.

And really, who cares what kind of shape the fob is in? You don't ever have to take it out of your pocket, and nobody will probably ever see it.

Well sadly for me I have like 9 keys and none of the other locks I open respond to my touch so I have to dig them out of my pocket.

I got one because in the first 3 days I dropped my keys on cement like 9 times. I realized that poor FOB was not going to survive me if I did not protect it.

I have a cellphone that has lived forever because it has a thick leather case on it that absorbs the blow from when I drop it - and I do drop it regularly. LMAO

I just wanted a leather one that had the buttons stamped into it. And compared to my last car button key it is not bulky in the pocket at all even with the cover.

Maybe if you ate the butter with a fork instead of your fingers, you would have better luck.

hahahah! Yeah Its a little bit butterfingers but its more of a pocket thing - I pull out the phone the keys fall out - I pull out the keys the phone falls out or the wallet or whatever else Ive stuffed in there. I don't use back pockets and I apparently destroy front ones.

You do have 2 front pockets, no?

I keep my fob "unleashed" from key ring. Never leaves my pocket until I'm home.

There is one offered by ACURASTORE (access from Acura.com). It looks like simple vinyl and felt, but it is branded.

That Acura "key glove" is kinda pricey, but it would sure come in handy when you want to give your fob to a valet without the key ring.

That rubber cover on Ebay would have been perfect for me. I couldn't find anything good when I was looking for a FOB protector. So I settled for the pricey key glove. they were back ordered for a long time too, I had to wait a few months for it. But they look awesome and legit.

The future is now:

Fob in briefcase - use dimple.
Phone in briefcase - use Bluetooth.
Keys in Briefcase - use Homelink.

Keys have gone the way of cash - too heavy in the pocket besides it makes your phone and fob fall out of your pocket!

I keep my fob in the briefcase. And I always lock my briefcase in the trunk. But the RL does not want the fob in the trunk! (Thankfully).

My briefcase has a laptop, Ipad, phone and a Fob. I think my keys are in there too but I haven't checked for years.

, I prefer the status of a satchel.

I thought about doing that but then I would probably loose my keys without the bigger than a key thing to grab onto them with

I just received my silicon rubber fob cover and love it! That was the best $6.95 that I ever spent! This cover is exactly what I was looking for. It is very thin and perfectly form fitting. It protects against drops and virtually eliminates button scratches. It looks and works great, I highly recommend it.

will these fit 2005 fobs?

I like the idea of the ebay key fob protector, but on the ebay site it describes the case as fitting 06-12 models. is there a difference in the 05 key fob?

Thanks!
