Just Bought Black on Black 2005 RL!!!

Number 17XXX Vin; Built in April 2005. Purchase at McDaniels Acura in Columbia, SC.

Wow

After 2 Accords and my current TL, this is the first Japanese made Honda since my 1988 Prelude.

I can not believe the difference in the feel and quality over my 2003 TL. It will clock 90 mph all day barely touching the gas pedal. And the braking system is fantastic. I just hope they don't warp like the TL.

Now I need to go through the hulking Navi manual to learn all of the commands this weekend.

Congrats Professor!! I'm still learning the nuances of my RL some 2 months later, but the great fun you'll have driving is an immediate treat. Did you go with the 18's? The consensus is that the OEM tires are a weak link on an otherwise great car.

Yep 18's. I think to find some really sticky replacement tires to take advantage of SHAWD.

Speaking of the SWAWD indicator, I haven't been pass one bar on any wheel. Do you have to accelerate hard in a turn to redistibute the power?

Congrats! It will not take long to get used to the Navi. I have a good grasp after 6 days of ownership Far less complicated than the Navi in my old '04 ESV Platinum.

It's even better with the A-Spec kit on it. You won't believe how different it makes the car look...

Congrats on the new RL. I have been thinking about trading my 03 TL for one.

Okay, so this will be a bit off-topic, but I love to see the enthusiasm that Acura owners/enthusiasts are showing towards the RL. Whenever I see owners from the other Acurazine boards come post on here (you guys know who you are ) about how great the RL is and how much they like it, I can't help but to think Acura has succeeded on building a [semi] desirable car. The same could not be said of the G1 RL, in that the G2 is actually sought after, and actually lusted after. Kinda cool.

BTW, congrats on the new purchase, Professor!

Just purchased RL

Will be picking up my RL tomorrow morning. I decided on the RL after some serious shopping (starting with BMW 530). My car will include the wooden steering wheel and gear knob for a price of $44,810.

How did I make out?

Congrats! You got a pretty good deal. I think the steering wheel is about 400 (on ebay) + install time and the shifter is maybe 100 (on ebay)

I was offered 44,500 for the car, but I leased instead with a base purchase price of 44,000.

Be sure to post pictures when you get it.
