June RL sales
The slump continues, but at least things continue stable at the 600-700 unit per month range.
624 RLs sold in June. Will update this post soon with comparable figures from competitors.
Overall, Acura's numbers were up 6.9% for June, largely on TL strength (up 8% to 6221) and especially MDX strength (up 26% to 4639).

In my area there is a lot of TL lease advertising ($339/mo). That may have infused the TL sales a bit.
I wonder what % of RL sales have been driven by people reading this board?

That's an interesting point. The number of sales is small enough and the number of visitors we have at this site high enough that perhaps we could potentially influence a significant percentage of sales.
OK, would more of you 624 who bought in June speak up?
Lexus GS 350: 2007 1880, 2006 1771 (+2.2%); YTD 2007 10099, 2006 11349 (-12.2%)
BMW 5 series: 2007 4657, 2006 5199 (-10.5%); YTD 2007 23807, 2006 27835 (-14.5%)--Note: 792 of the 530xi, the RL's direct competitor in the group, were sold
Infiniti M: 2007 1845, 2006 2012 (-11.7%); YTD 2007 11701, 2006 13,128 (-12.0%)

while i used this board for info on the TL i bought in 03', this board (as well as the two lexus boards) helped motivate me into closer consideration of the RL.
The first year ES is plauged with problems. People were complaining about by-backs, transmission issues, wind noise design defects, inadvertant accelaration, deisel sounding engines in the morning....On the acura website, its a big deal when owners are complaining about how the intermittant wippers don't speed sychronize as well as they should.
Members on this board and the others helped in purchasing info as to the price that could be had for an 07RL. There is nothing like first hand info given in a timely manner.

OK, guys, I'll be taking my cut now. Yeah, right. Modding is a labor of love that is 100% volunteer effort.
To the new guys....welcome to AZ!
iforyou, the 2G MDX and a resurgence of the TL this month led to the higher sales. The RDX sales somewhat offset the absence of the RSX.

Agreed... i'm getting the clear bra ASAP. my neighbor told me about it as well...
there's dust on it everytime I get home... california duster is actually very effective...
I'm going to start a thread on black rl's and wax/care...
thanks

I'm one of the 624 as of June 26th. Lakeshore Silver w/Taupe & Tech Package. The dealers in my area are pretty bare as far as 2007 RLs. You have to take what is left as far as color combinations if you want one. I really wanted an ebony interior but the only cars they had available with ebony interiors in three states were with a white exterior.
When I was visiting the different dealers you would have thought they were giving away the MDXs. I noticed a lot of those going out the door.

As far as RL inventory....I'm sitting in my dealer right now for service and the only RLs I see are mine in the service bay (the guys are enjoying the 5zigen exhaust ), in the showroom, and a tester out front. Can't speak for the back lot right now, though....When I bought my RL, there were easily a dozen or more on the back lot, four out front.....

Glad to hear that the clear bra sounds like a worthwhile investment. I just had one installed and started to doubt that I needed it. The '05 TL with Navi I just traded in definitely could have used one.

I note that the table does not break the TL numbers down into the regular TL and the TL type S. I was curious to see if they are selling any TL type S's, because I have yet to see a single one on the road. I wonder how they are selling?

Here's my clear bra install. It's pretty invisible from everywhere but up close.

Those people want more cubic feet in a vehicle, but they also want a vehicle that is compact enough to parallel park easily. Sales of the RDX will continue to improve over time, but it will never approach the sales of the MDX or the Lexus RX. All Acura needs to do is learn how to promote the RDX to their target market and sales will improve. Advertising is not enough!
That being said, I have seen a fair number of RDX's here in Western PA, but our hilly terrain, potholed roads, and rough winter driving are not representative of much of the USA, so the cars that are popular here are not always popular everywhere else.
