JDM VIP Puddle light

Hi guys. I've been indecisive on doing this mod for multi reason so before I buy them I want a second opinion. I don't see a lot members doing this mod. I'm modding the RL with a classic look. Do you think this is ghetto or not on style anymore not to mention it will be necessary to drill multi holes. The only downside about this puddle lights is too bright but that can be fix with a dimmer.

Personally, I'm not a big fan. I love the entire VIP look minus excessive negative camber and puddle lights.

I'm a fan because there actually is some function from them, it's not like putting neons under your car but at the same time you gotta keep the vip theme wit some baller wheels

drilling car just for lights?

I got a 9 led assembly in the doors and those light up the road nicely...don't think I'd ever drill my car for something as silly as puddle lights.

I did it on my RL and on my previous TL too. It's nice to me though. I put 2 on each side so I didn't over do it.

That was lighting fast. Thank you. How much did it cost to install it. Do you plan on installing on your new ride?

Ya, I kinda like it. I mean originally the idea came from Brabus and now a lot of people are doing it. Now a lot of VIPish car are doing it as well. Just have to see what kind of vehicle would look nice. To me personally, I like it. Just add a nice touch to it.

Umm, I had my friend's shop did it for me so they did it for me as an offer. I think with labor and parts....probably around $100 or $150 or maybe less. I know there is a thread on the TL section shows a DIY. You can check it out. The LEDs I've use was the dome light. So it was kind of bright and then I made a custom round ring and put the dome light inside the right and put clear silicone epoxy for waterproofing. Have fun!

I just tap my with the interior lights. So when you disarm the your keyless remote, it will goes on and then it will dim and fade out.

I'm not a fan, but I can see what you're going for. Seems a bit ricey for me.

Like I mentioned before just contemplating the option but I haven't decided yet, plus I don't feel okay drilling holes on expensive body kit.

hence the name puddle lights so when there are puddles on the ground and it is dark the light illuminates the puddle so you don't step in it.....i'm not sayin its the greatest thing in the world, but you know you hopped out your car into a puddle at least one time in your life, this solves that......just sayin

TSX = Riceable with puddle lamps and wheel arch lamps.
TL = Executive rice but drop the wheel arch lamps.
RL = Totally inappropriate.

if puddle lights are all about stepping into the puddle...then how about putting an LED light into the door? no drilling and more than enough light to step into a puddle knowingly.

A better solution is not to park where the door opening is adjacent to a puddle. When you park you can see the puddle upon approach so it should not be a surprise to see a puddle there. What if there is a pile of dog poop there? Do you need a light to see if it's there or do you look before you tread?
The RL has lamps in the door to illuminate your exit on all 4 doors, if it's not bright enough then use a higher wattage bulb.

Not for me, if anything I'd put these in the bottom of the door.

So far my LED replacement lights in the doors are plenty bright to save me from puddles.

I like the idea of a poop light!
