Isthere a how-to on the timing belt change?

I am very mechanically inclined but have never done this.
All of the parts OEM are going to cost me about $325.

I called the local stealership and they are going to charge me $1300 to change just the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner.

$1000 labor seems a bit ridiculous to me.

If there is a good write up on this already I feel very confident in doing it myself over a weekend.

I have searched this site and cannot find a how to. Is there one?

Thats cheap compared to what I was quoted locally. Fortuneatly i was directed to a semi local Honda dealer who did everything with parts for $539 including drive belt plus $90 for auto tensioner. I also bought the idler pulley and another tensioner and side motor mount and new aluminium crank pulley and thermostat and no additional labor to swap out either.

Im mechanically inclined too but for that price it wasnt worth my time and a great bunch of folks too and tech that did the work.

Yeah I saw that one but can't find one specific to the RL.
Does that one work with the RL?
I am not sure what the differences are between the two.

All J-series motors are essentially the same procedure.

Thanks guys.

Ordered this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/370848731920?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Also ordered the serpentine belt and motor mounts.
Will pick up a thermostat later.

Hopefully that is everything I need.
Let me know if I am forgetting anything.

Seems like a tedious but fairly simple job.

If you are going to change the thermostat, change the radiator hoses and radiator cap.

Will do.
I have come to the conclusion that I am going to keep this car instead of getting a new car with a car payment. So I am going to dump money into fixing this one up as nice as can be.

I honestly haven't found a car I like more than this one.

Fuck car payments

I'll tell you right now the hardest part is breaking the crank pulley bolt loose ..then after that it would be the bolts for the timing covers..

Pretty much smooth sailing after that though...
