I don't understand.........

My RL has a vin over 19000 and usually it takes 15 to 30 seconds for the xm to refresh. However when I come home from work ( about 5:30) the xm refreshes instantly. I wish it would work that way all the time. Any explanation why it works fine at 5:30 to 6:00 PM, but no other time?

It is random. At times mine (in the 17xxx range) will update instantly. I have not had the TSBs performed yet.

My VIN is over 20,000 and it has this delay. Hasn't bothered me too much, especially considering the posts which have reported no change after the tsb performed. Not sure I want to get my back seat removed and have a mechanic crawling all over there and in my trunk unless absolutely necessary.

Of course, according to Acura, my car doesn't have the problem as my VIN is not part of the tsb. So that would be another battle to fight.

If I'm really interested in getting a song title instantly, I'll just hit the tune button to go back a channel then back to the original station. That will refresh the display and if you do it fast enough, you have no break in the audio.

This XM delay is really interesting because some of us suffer from it, and some of us don't, and it seems idependent of the VIN. I have never suffered from this.

It got me to thinking whether this is location dependent...i.e. here in the San Francisco Bay Area the XM satellites are behaving diferently for some reason (all jokes about SF in general are welcome )

Has anyone noticed that the XM refresh problem seems to be in any specific locations around the country?

Pete

I doubt if it is location specific. I'm in the Bay Area and had the problem. There was an early recall or TSB that had to do with the speaker seals in the door as well as an XM/Navi issue. I think my delay only happened after they did this "fix". The latest TSB eliminated the problem though.

Where do you see these posts? Everyone who has gotten the TSB has reported the XM delay is gone.

To the best of my knowledge the only real problem people are encountering are idiot dealers not reactiviating the XM and NAV Traffic accounts properly.

I had the TSB performed and sometimes it displays instantly and then other times it takes 10 seconds or so to update.

One thing i did notice is that if it does update instantly it will do so untill i shut the car off and then it wll either go back to the delay or not.

05-022 was done before I got the car and XM updates right away. At first I thought it did not but I suspect that was a programming error in the XM signal. I get correct song titles the moment the song changes. I wonder if perhaps some channels work better than others?

As reported I had to activate navtraffic myself after the TSB. The service manager acknowledged there is a problem with their update mechanism. As stated in the TSB they have a dedicated screen for this and it's not working right. They're also being told it can take 24 hours for the change to take effect. So testing it right after the repair makes no sense. I told him how I fixed it with the help of the community and he was appreciative.

Even easier than that- just hit the enter dial while on the channel you are listening to and it will update.

Mine does this without the TSB update.

Are they wearing pink, talking with a lisp, and going to a 'dance club' known as the "Manhole"??? Is that what you were looking for in terms of jokes?

It finally happened. My Vin is in the 20xxx range, and yesterday my XM channels refresh and all my presets channels are gone. I do have XM delay, but can live with it until now. Sigh.....
