Hood 2007 RL Aluminum?
Got smacked by rock on the freeway - quarter size dent in hood - are the hoods aluminum on RLs and if I decide to repair the ding am I limited to specialized aluminum repair shops?

Yes the hood and trunk is made of aluminum.

In your case it should be fine but yes they need dedicated tools and special environment/area when working on aluminum but to repair your issue I dont see it that bad. Is it just a dent or is there paint loss? If no paint loss try PDR.

I had a door ding removed when I first bought the car. It was on the fender and removed with simple PDR.
