2007 Infiniti G35x AWD, 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD, or 2007 Acura MDX?
I'll be getting one of the above vehicles as a gift from my parents this November / December. I'll probably be keeping this vehicle for a long time ( five or six years ) so I don't want to spend money on something I'll get bored with in a year or two. I plan on test driving all three vehicles before purchasing and I know this is an Acura forum, but just for fun if you were in my situation what vehicle would you choose and why? Thanks. I can't wait for November / December!

The thing that annoys me about the 2007 Acura MDX is that it's a $48,500 vehicle fully loaded and it doesn't have a Keyless Access System, a auto day / night mirror with compass, real wood trim, or ventilated seats. IMO if Acura wants to compete with the big boys it should have included these features in the 2007 Acura MDX.

personally I wouldn't take any of those three. Not a fan of Infiniti, can't fit in the GS, and I already went the SUV route and I didn't like the "new age" soccer mom fealing it gave me.

Why the heck are you comparing 2 cars and an SUV? It should've been the G35x, G350AWD, and TL-Type S.
No brainer, fully loaded G35x, Lexus is boring and a ripoff to me, and I'm not a huge fan of SUV's.

and isn't the GS350 significantly more expensive than the G35x? I would think that the IS350 would be more around the same price. I just wish there was an AWD IS350.
i'm kinda tired of the way the G35 looks so I voted for the GS350. I loved the G35 at first, but i think it's due for a redesign again. I haven't really been keeping up with infiniti models, but I remember a bunch of concepts for the next gen G35(/G37?).
I've heard the Avalon provides almost all the same luxuries as the gs350, if your parents don't care about name brands.

3) Demonstrates to your parents you don't need the latest and greatest and will make due with what you already have
That's my
EDIT: you forgot to look at a Suburu Legacy and Audi A4. If you're in that price range, you might as well test drive these cars with a proven track record for AWD.

Cross shopping a G and a GS is like doing the same for a 3 series and an E. With that said, I'd take a Lexus.

agreed, he sounds like a spoiled brat. But come on folks, realistically put yourself in his shoes - do you REALLY think that some young teen (what it looks to be) would be "humble" and turn DOWN a 50k car.
I know very few teenagers who've done that. I've got a buddy who's parents are loaded, and wanted to get him something nice for his first car. He asked for a standard Camry LE and that was it. Yeah, I was pissed But like I said, very few teenagers, or for that matter anybody, is gonna turn down a 50k car for free.

I'm a spoiled brat because my parents are buying me a new car? None of you guys know me so don't judge me. Also, who cares if I'm looking at a 2007 Infiniti G35, a 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD, and a 2007 Acura MDX. Just because they're not in the same classes doesn't mean that I can't decide between them. So if you're looking at a BMW 3 Series, you can only look at the Lexus IS, the Infiniti G35, the Mercedes-Benz C Class, the Cadillac CTS, etc.? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Someone just lock this thread because there are way too many judgmental / jealous people on this forum.

With that said, the vehicles you've specified are in widely varying classes and its hard for someone to give you an opinion - it all comes down to driving style and intended purpose. Do you often haul 4+ people? If so an MDX might be the more handy choice. Do you value outright performance and handling? If so, the G35 beckons. Or maybe you want the ideal isolated luxury cruiser - if so, the GS350 has your name written on it.
Hopefully you're getting an idea as to why its hard for someone to give an opinion on the topic, especially when the cars are in wildly varying categories.
Congratulations on the fact that your getting a new car. Young people getting a new car isn't necessarily bad, even if you don't pay for it. A good friend of mine got a newer Passat from her parents to the tune of $20k a year after she started college - however, it was 1294475% justified in my opinion considering that she got an all expenses paid full 7yr scholarship to med school. IMO, a 20k Passat is nothing compared to that achievement and she deserved the car without doubt. Learn to respect that car for what its worth, and just because you drive a good car, it doesn't mean that your a good driver. Take it easy with a newer car that your not familiar with and don't endanger others by pushing the limits on the street. Whatever you end up getting, enjoy the ride, and do post pics and impression up on AZ. Cheers.
