Honda parts replacements for Acura parts

The 4-way switch on the passenger's seat on my 05 RL is defective. Does anyone know which, if any, Honda 4-way switch (less expensive) may be identical to the (way overpriced) Acura 4-way switch?

And, would it be practical to start a list of crossover (Honda to Acura) parts? Just a thought.

Welcome to AZ!

Not sure as this question hasn't come up before. One of the parts guys could chime in to provide more info.

They should all be "honda" parts I guess, as the RL is a rebadged Honda Legend....

I wonder if they changed the part # at all?

(N)euronbob and JPSMAN, thanks for your welcome and the input. In my efforts to keep my RL showroom operational, saving money and getting quality is a must.

I will call my local Honda dealer (on the same lot as the Acura dealer) and see if the Acura part # for the 4-way switch will process through the Honda better-priced parts catalog/inventory. Or, maybe they can cross the number to the equal Honda part.

Having owned many different makes of cars, I am very familiar with many of their respective forums. The people on this forum seem eager to help, yet know their limitations while being very good-natured. How refreshing! Thanks again.

The Driver's Seat 8 Way Switch retails for about $202. There are several online vendors selling it for $152-$156. The part # is:

81653-SJA-A01 SWITCH ASSY., L. (8WAY)

You can google the part # for various vendors and try contact some member vendors in this forum.

OP, did you have to remove the whole seat to install the switch? If not, which panels did you have to remove? Can you pull the side without pulling off the front piece?
