Help Please! Navigation Doesn't Save

Hey guys,

I have a 2005 RL w/ 55k miles. for some reason my navigation stopped saving stuff. Just three days ago i tried to change the time because of daylight savings to push 1 hour ahead but everytime i turn off the car and then turn it back on it, it goes back to old the time which is incorrect. all the settings i tried to save always goes back to the way it use to be. like for example when i press the setup button and lower the volume to none, and change the setting for routing guidance to the other one that displays the next thing to do. it never stays on those settings after i turn off the car and turn it back on. any advice is appreciated!

thanks

Not sure about the time, I thought it was auto... But just to rule out the obvious are you using the same key fob to lock and unlock the car.

Does the MID say "Welcome Driver 1" or "Welcome Driver 2" when starting the car. Or does it simply say 'Welcome." Is so, you need to resync the fob to the car and all of your settings should be saved.

I had similar volume issues where I could barely hear it and if I increased the volume, it would revert back to a whisper the next time I started the car. Interestingly, the volume bar stayed at the higher indicated level. Sounded like and easy fix until when I brought it in and the Tech said "you're leaving it here, right?" Not sure what the actual issue was, but they had to replace the entire nav unit and disk. It was replaced under warranty and the new disk was the then current version.

As for the time, similar issue a while ago before I got the DST update. You may find that it "fixes itself" in a week based on the old DST schedule. Mine did.

thanks professor, you helped me out alot. dealer resynced the fob key for me and everything was better. it was only a problem on driver 1 key, driver 2 key was fine. dealer also said that i might have put the key in "valet" mode which cause this aswell.
