2005 RL... The front passenger door will lock by touching the handle, but will not unlock. Is there a sensor that can be replaced or a trick with the fob that can reset the door.

That was a recurring issued with '05 and '06 models usually caused by moisture. If moisture is the issue, you can wait awhile until it dries. Otherwise, you will have to have the handle replaced. I have had my driver's side handle replaced twice.

 

You do realize you lock the door by touching the sensor and unlock it by "grabbing" the handle (putting your hand inside). Just checking the obvious.

I read it the same way LL, and I had a handle go bad but there were more symptoms.

 

uh yeah mine went out a month ago. I had it replaced by the dealer and was 500. It is funny I have an 07 with 60k. Was < 4 years > 50 k so warranty expired. They paid 1/2 the cost.. the manufacture kicked in the rest as a courtesy. WTF.. is it defective or what? I mean I didn't open my door any more than most people, I don't think. First my door lock actuater, then the door sensor. Mine wouldn't unlock to the touch. I was told it was the sensor. The part is about 250, I believe..
