I set up the handsfree link 10 days ago and I guess set up a password at that time. Today I tried to use the phone and asks me the the passcode. I forgot the passcode and lost the paper where I wrote it...so i am locked out.

How do I reset it?

 

You could try re-syncing the phone and the RL, but it may not work because it has already stored the sync info for your current phone and if this did work it would be a security breach.

Not sure if removing fuses would help since the password is most likely stored in a non-volatile memory (means it will remember it even if power is off).

I think you might need to contact your local service department.

Not cool...let us know how it goes...I've done that on my computer a few times WOOPS...

 

I already tried disconnecting the battery and connecting but no solution.

 

Can you pair it again and create a new profile?

Are you able to access the list at all?

I dont have my car here now so I cant go in a test it, in fact I never have it since it really belongs to my wife and she doesn't drive any of the others now. She even put the SL down for the RL.

 

I have 2 phones paired, mine and wifes, with either of them when I try to dial using the handsfree link button on steering it asks for code. Although I am able to dial the numbers stored in cars address book with no problem. Will try deleting all phones and pairing again.

 

Talked to Acura Handfreelink and they told that I need to take the car to dealer and they will connect to their computer and reset the passcode. Going next week for that.

 

Dealer Update: Dealer checked the HF unit and apparently the unit is locked (frozen)state. They said the unit is gone bad which is why it is not accepting the pass code. Some kind of bug in the unit. They ordered a new unit and will replace the unit.

Would like to know if anybody else also has the HF passcode and if they had problems with unit?

 

I've seen a couple of these go bad at my dealer..
