handsfree link updated!
It looks like they substantially updated the handsfree link as of 4/12/05.

They give your a detailed list of which phones are compatible and exactly which features of bluetooth work in each phone. Alas, the treo 650 is NOT listed.

But the Treo 650 is working fine for me on the RL. I can make calls out and can receive calls in with the push of a button on the steering wheel. No signal or battery strength indicated on dash but that is not a big deal to me. Also, I have not tried transferring the call back to the Treo 650 as this just has not come up yet and I keep forgetting to try. So, basically have a functional setup I am glad to report.

Verizon Motorola v710?
Seems like the Motorola v710 has been removed from the latest list. Don't know why... it works 100% fine including signal and battery meter. That would mean that Verizon has no approved phones for the RL.... go figure!

The V710 works fine on my RL. I don't have the updated firmware in the phone, so it doen't show the signal strength or battery level, but other than that it works fine.

V710 Works Great
Guys,
Just purchased a Motorola V710 (Ebay of all places) with the following software version: 8700 01.40.0R
Can confirm the following features work in my RL via HFL:
Signal Strength
Battery Meter
Caller ID
Ability to use phone in all modes (vibrate, silent, custom ring tones)
Just an FYI

v710 works fine
Took the advice of the previous posts and bought a v710 from my local VZW store. Took me 5 minutes to partner it with the RL and everything works just fine.
Anyone know if there is a way to enter complex numbers into the RL phonebook? Like access to voicemail that requires waiting for connection, then sending another string of numbers for UN or password. I was able to accomplish the task by using phonebook to dial the main number, then entering my mailbox number and password through the v710 itself. Certainly would be more convient to store them all in the HFL phonebook.

Treo 650 update
Just wanted to update my experience with Treo 650 bluetooth and the RL. I have now successfully sent, received, and transferred (just hold the hfl button and say "transfer") calls with the 650. I really like the bluetooth thing, nice to not have to dig around for the phone while in the car! That said the Treo 650 is buggy in a lot of other ways. So before you buy one be sure to check out Treocentral to prepare for other potential "issues".

Three Wheelin'
Could someone please explain to me how to pair the RL with the Treo 650? I had no problem with the Razr, but I can't get the Treo to work.

Verizon WL Treo 650 ships today, May 11, for business channels and retail launch is set for May 23. Looking forward to using my new T650 from VZW in MY new Acura RL, say sometime late June or July. :-)
