Green l.e.d. for door on overhead console
Green l.e.d. for door on overhead console
I went into my garage in the dark the other night, and noticed a slight glow coming from inside my RL. Turns out it was the green l.e.d. for the door button on the overhead console. All the doors were shut and no other lights were on. When I locked the car, it went out.
Anyone know if this light is supposed to be on all the time, except when your car is locked? (this is assuming you've selected that option to have all the lights come on when the door is opened...I hadn't initially, but found I prefered the additional lighting) Would think this would be a battery drain over a long period of time.

I am not sure if it is supposed to be on - but as far as it being a battery drain - yes and no. To drain the battery of the car from that single LED - it would take such a long amount of time you would virtually never be driving your RL.
Funny, I noticed that too the other night.
I wouldn't worry about the drain. The other gizmos on the car consume a lot more than a lowly little LED. The battery probably discharges quicker by itself than what is lost through that tiny light
