I have been fussing with this glove box light for some time now. I went to the dealer and told him my glove box light was out and he ordered me p/n 34243-s3n-003. Now I went to put it in today and see that it is the housing only and no bulb!! The bulb and socket twists out of the housing (my housing is fine), and then you can remove the small bulb. Can anyone tell me what type of bulb this is? LCD, halogen, wattage? I would love to get one today while the glove box is all apart--again!!

Is there truly an illuminating device (light) IN the compartment? I can't find it in the 2006 RL. My "passenger" is tiring of bringing a flashlight <smile>.

Did I overlook a valued feature?

 

yes indeed there is a light - look on the top of the box, slightly off to the right and you should see the white colored plastic. That plastic has to be dropped down and the bulb inside changed. Follow instructions in service manual to remove glove box to get at the back of the dome and remove it.
