Was thinking about putting in a self install chip for $70
60more hp and more torque with better fuel economy...has anyone done this to any of your cars? and the RL in specific.
I love my 05 RL but dont want to put something in it without seeing a forum discussion on it

Absolutely DO NOT BUY THIS, it is a ripoff. As stated above, there are no chips available in the U.S. At one point in the past, Amuse made a chip for the Legend/2G RL, but it was only available in Japan and is almost certainly no longer available.

 

how come they dont make any chips for our car.

would a VAFC vtec timer be any good for the RL?

 

Most have not cracked our ECU.
many have tried but the results are very minuscule that its not even worth the money and time.

lol if you check them all out , you would see it gives the same gain to every car

i check for my BMW M3 and then the Bugatti Veyron and its all the same, so right there you can tell its BS

When (if) you take your Acura in for the brake recall, you might also ask the dealer their opinion on this "thing".

i figured any improvement by 60hp that only cost $70 had to have a spoiled story behind it

 

Keep looking though! For the 2G CLs there was a company making Comptech header knock-offs and selling them for $100! 30whp for is unheard of for a $100 mod but plenty of us got them and experienced the results. Wish we had that for this car!

 

.. I can't believe this ... We can't find any performance upgrades or goodies for our RL's like the G35S / G37 Sedans. They are a bunch of Aftermarkets turbo kits , supercharges ,ecu chip to be able to tunning the car just a little. In the other hand for Our RL's, the only think you can up grade is your Airfreshener .. . . Dont you Agree ?

 

not agree. Acura RL owners(new vehicle owners) are not looking for sport cars when they put $50,000 for there New RL. they want comfort, luxury...etc So no i would not want an sport tuned RL but maybe if ACURA made it!!!
