Fuel door

Has anyone noticed … when the fuel door is in the maximum open position it will rub against the body panel? I was getting gas today and looked at the fuel door…and it just did not look right. Upon closer examination, I discovered a pin head size chip on the upper left corner of the fuel door and on the body panel where it had made contact.

Is there supposed to be a stop on the door to prevent it from opening so wide so as to not make contact with the body panel?

I've Had no such problems with my fuel filler door either. I suggest you show the damage to your dealer who can reseat the door and repair the scratches.
