Front Badge Radar Thingy...

Sorry for the incorrect terminology on this one, I'm sitting at my desk at work and am to lazy to figure out the actual wording on it.

Either way...

2008 RL Aspec w/ Tech.

The front badge has the plastic cover over it, which is the radar piece used for the cruise control. I want to change out my badges to Honda badges because Legend > RL, but I don't want to lose that feature. Does anyone know if it can be retained while changing the badge? I'm assuming relocating it isn't really possible as it needs a clear view of the road and is probably designed to be in that specific spot.

If not it's really not a big deal, I'll keep the (A) and still put the Legend badge on because they need to be changed anyways (Currently have the gold badges )

You can order the JDM grill that comes with the H emblem shield. You'll have to order the JDM grill to put a Honda badge on it anyway but it won't be cheap. That shield emblem for the RL is a $400 part.

ChocBoy did it. Your plastic piece is just that, a piece of plastic.

Good luck. I've got my for the Legend floor mats.

I was reading through the manual and I thought that it said there was the CMBS sensor in that plastic piece? Hence why it would be so expensive

Nope. The CMBS and ACC radar module is a box located in front of the radiator. That thing costs like $3k. From what we have gathered here, the plastic piece is designed to shield the module. It has no other function.

You know, you don't have to go Honda to go Legend.

If you search ebay, there are 2 jdm grilles for sale. I cannot remember if they are CMBS version though. If you're on super budget, I have an extra emblem holder that you can try to modify to fit your existing grill. I was sent 2 when I ordered my grill. I believe the CRV emblem and later year civic uses the same size emblem.

All good info, I just got the car last Monday so I'm still in R&D stages. I'll check out the grills on ebay and if you can post or send me some pictures of the emblem holder and I'll take a look at my grill that would also be really cool.

oo7, I had considered just doing that and still may. It still gets the point across haha.

Thanks guys

I was about to order some but they 1) dont match up right (LHD vs RHD) and 2) Are a very ugly 2 or 3 tone in my colour. The back is a cool 3 piece though

Pictures of the mats?

Also, I couldn't find the grills on ebay during my late night search last night. Maybe they sold, maybe I'm retarded... who knows. If you find them please post a link.

No, pics of the holder for the emblem. Its #10 in the pic below. #14 is the emblem which I believe is the same as the CRV and CIVIC;

I tried to find them and they are down. If you do a search for JDM KB1 its the same dude thats selling the mirrors out of Hong Kong. They will pop up again.

Upholstery shops can make car mats that match shape and color. However, they may balk at embroidering a copyrighted logo. One member here had an issue with that.

Thanks Choc, definitely good info. I don't think I'd want to try and fit that holder in on the stock one. Any time I did that on my previous car I pretty much always ended up regretting it. When I do this I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

oo7- Do you know if there is anywhere to get blank versions of our floor mats? I work for a promo company that specializes in having things decorated. I can see where there may be some copyright roadblocks, but given that I have a professional relationship with these people they may do a few of them for me. Possibility for a group buy down the road if anyone is interested?

I don't blame you at all, just throwing it out there. Keep checking ebay, they will pop up again and you'll be lucky because they were 1/4 of the price I paid to get mine although mine was right from Honda Japan.

Hmm, not a fan of those mats to be honest.

The grill is back on Ebay. I'm tempted to contact him and see if he will give me a deal on the headlights and grill together.

Problem is, if he does give me a deal I can't bite right now anyways haha

I see it too. You need to be careful. If you have CMBS, you will need to modify that to make ti work. The grills are slightly different. Remember the CMBS has the brain right behind the H emblem. The grill in that picture looks like the regular grill. the opening behind the H is a lot bigger to fit over the CMBS. This might be why it is priced as much as it is. I'll try to confirm when I get home.

As for headlights, you can get them way cheaper than that.

Really? Can you point me in that direction.

Damn CBMS, like I said in my previous post I'd rather do it right. If that means ordering a grill direct from Japan I may not have a huge amount of other options.

Just keep on the look out and search like nobody's business. Parts are out there, you just gotta be on the look out. I think You can make that grill work and it wont be a hack job. Look behind your existing grill and look at the eBay pictures and you'll understand. It'll save you a load of coin.

Nersh, I would think there are numerous professional options for blank floor mats in your area. If you want an Austin option, I can help you there.
