Found where all of the RL's are...
California! I just got back from a trip to Sacramento to visit family. We went to the Redwood forest, San Francisco, Napa... and I counted 7 RL's on the road the 5 days I was there. That's more than I've seen in TN since they came out. Interestingly, I only saw 2 GS's (my current car). Not exactally a scientific sampling...but none the less...seemed like they were everywhere. Although, I lost track of the # of BMW's I saw... those Californians like their BMW's!
I was driving a rental (Impala)... reminded me why I hate American cars.

And what is it about a 'clean' car in the snow?? Maybe because they're so rare!

That's because they're paying $3.74 a gallon for gas

Prius drivers pi$$ me off. I can't count how many Prius owners I've seen in the fast lane, driving 75 mph. What's that about them lowering their carbon footprint again? ![Bullshit](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/bs.gif)
I saw TWO Celestial Silvers yesterday in my travels (drove 80 miles to pick up my S2k
). I guess RLs DO exist after all around here!

There are a bunch in MA. I see 4 or 5 a day in and around Boston. Very few CMBS/PAX versions though. Despite the mostly male contingent here on the board, I would say that 30-40% of the RL's I see around here are driven by women.

I have been seeing a lot more RL's around the Seattle area, a lot more then in the past. I wonder what gives? It could be that more used 2nd Gen RL's are being purchased, since some good deals are to be had.

Knowing what a great deal the RL was new, it may get a bit more attention as a used car value.

It's funny you mentioned that, but prior to 2006 (the year I purchased my car), I hardly saw any RLs. In fact, from what I can remember, I think I saw the RL just once in 2005

Now, I see them all of the time along my daily work commute route.

I see more RLs anymore than the sales stats would suggest.
In my current client 6 story office garage, there are 3 RLs and 4 TLs.
In my previous client site, when I had my TL, there were a dozen TLs and no RLs.
As rare as the RL may be, I still see no M45s, 540-550s, and even more rare GS (any engine). I would think I am just 'RL Focused' buy I admire all of these cars. So I still don't get all the V8 lust for a model's success.

I live in San Antonio, TLs are a dime a dozen as well as BMW's and M's. However this week I saw 3 RLs in one day, which is a very rare occurrence. Maybe it's coincidence or like others have alluded to the CPO market is heating up due to the current financial climate. The RL is a value many don't know about because they're enchanted with the German brand or pulled by the snazzy Infiniti advertising.

I see 2-3 RL's every single day here in NJ. *shrug*
And Prius owners piss me off, too -- the amount of extra fuel used to make and ship the batteries back and forth from Canada to China to Japan to the US exceeds their fuel savings over the life of the car, and those eco-weenies are usually driving 45 MPH in the left lane while playing their little video game on the car screen ("Good Job! High Mileage") and patting themselves on the back.
Ugh.

I see two or three every day. One day I saw six on my way to work (not counting mine) and one day I passed four on my way home from the gym (2 miles). I'm sure some of them are repeat sightings but it's nice to know I'm not alone.

The problem the car faced was marketing and lack of faith by the manufacturer. It took Acura 3 years to come up with a mildly decent lease program and even then, the residual was in the low 50% range on a 12K lease.
I know a lot of people on the forum are against leasing in the 1st place, but any car in the $50,000 range needs to have a decent lease program or just be the most desirable vehicle around or it won't survive.

You make a good point about the leasing. I wanted to lease my RL but when they gave me the numbers, I said "no way". I wound-up buying it because I loved the car. If I was on the fence and a definite lessee (or is it lessor?), I would have probably walked away and got something with a better lease.

This has to be a near statistical impossiblity but on the way to work this morning, I was at a 4-way intersection and three of the four cars stopped were 2G RLs. Mine, and two black ones. The fourth car was a TL (white).

Aren't there generally more "imports" in the bay area than in TN or the South. I notice whenever I got to South Carolina there are definitely fewer German and Asian brands than in California. I see one at least once or twice a week in the bay area, beside the one in my garage
