I am having problem lock and unlocking with my FOB. When I walk up to the car and grab the handle it wont open and wont lock when I swipe the handle either. Anyone having the same problem... Do I need to reset the remote?

I'm having the same problem as well. I noticed tonight that the car will not unlock everytime I go to the drivers side and touch the handle, but it will when I go to the passenger side.

 

Handle itself may be bad. I had the one on my passenger side replaced under warranty a while back.

 

Are you trying to unlock/lock with the FOB or is it the door handle itself you are having issues with?
Sounds to me like it's the door handle that is the problem and a common problem at that. Many people have had the handles replaced, myself included. Numerous threads on this issue also.

 

The door handle is a VERY common problem, perhaps THE most common problem on the RL. If you are in warranty, go to the dealer and get it replaced. If not....well.....then the dealer is happy to take your money, or you have to live with it.

Also: has your car been in a car wash lately? Jets of water on the handle will render it useless for varying periods from hours to days.

Overall, the design of the handle is wonderful, but the implementation and reliability absolutely suck.

 

i had the same issue but I think it was because it was 20 degrees with a wind chill of 9 yesterday, I had heat my finger and rub the notch to lock it..
