Driver Seat Discomfort Help?

I've had my 2006 RL for about two months, and I think the seat is actually causing some pain in my tailbone. It feels to me like there is a ridge that runs down the middle of the driver's seat from front to back and it's causing some support problems. The seat also feels pretty firm towards the back.

Any suggestions on how to adjust the seat to deal with this? FYI, I'm of pretty average build (5'11'', 185lbs).

Hoos, I have not had this problem. I have an 05 Rl with 16,000 miles. I have made a few long trips with the car and find the seats or seat to be very comfortable. You may want to have the dealer take a look at it in case there is something out of place below the seat

both of my front seats have an inordinate amount of lumbar. I'm 5'9" and a vertically adjustable lumbar (like in German autos) would make me super happy...

Note that it does get better (maybe I'm just used to it) after 4-5 months.

Hmm, drove my S4 for the last time a few days ago and noticed again how stiff those seats were compared to the RL. I haven't driven very far in the RL yet but it's been comfortable so far (6', 210). Get it checked out. Perhaps a heating element has shifted.

I love the RL seats. Perhaps the most comfortable I have used.

They really got the seats right... just perfect. One of the big turnoffs for me for Mercedes and BMW is the rock-hard seats in them. Sorry, but my big American ass prefers something a little more plush... and the Acuras are the perfect balance for me between support and comfort.

Ditto. I'm also 5'11 and 185lbs. Love the seats.

To each his own...

I agree 100% with jftjr above. I think Mercedes has the worst seats and BMW is a close second. I ordered the "contoured seats" on my wife's Mercedes thinking that I could get comfy on those. They have all sort of pneumatic pumps inflating this and deflating that part of the seat - they are still terrible! BMW definitely has the cheaper looking interior. The RL seats are superb!! Only my NSX has more comfortable seats and those are only two way adjustable. I cannot understand why some (few) people complain about the seats, they are just perfect for me.

Yeah I sat in an S class sedan for the first time a few years back and found the seats to be abosolute crap. Super hard and made me wonder why people find that luxurious.

I have also been in BMWs and also find their seats to not be that comfortable.
