I think he was kidding. Of course, you might be kidding, too. The RL's rear seat does not fold.

A slow day on the RL board.....

It definitely does not fold. And it's a pain in the @$$ to remove.

Why would you take it out?

It needs to be removed to install the A-Spec suspension. Also if you ever needed to get access to the Onstar control unit it's behind the seat.

The only thing that folds down is the armrest. Does that qualify? Although I have not used it, I hear the pass through works well for the 5zigen exhaust system when being transported for installation!

My daughter likes looking through the contents of my trunk using the pass-thru.

Here's an OT question: How many folks regularly use their back seat to transport teenagers and above? Aside from a few trips with my kids, in the 1+ year I've owned the car, only one adult has been transported in the back seat.

I'm wondering how the apparent smallness of the non-folding rear seat affects folks in the real world. Do your passengers complain when its time to take the gang to lunch?

When my lunch group bickers over who drives, my RL is that favorite. Some for the toys & tech, but some find the backseat extremely comfy, if not the most generous leg room.

I have not had anyone ever mention the backseat was tight.

To access the rear shock towers. Make sure before you leave your install that your rear seat is properly clipped into place, my dealer forgot this when I had the install done on my TL. (I checked before I left the place when I had my RL done.)
