Do you really use the voice recognition?

I'm with you. I sometimes use it to enter Navigation stuff (addresses, traffic, etc) but other than that it's far easier to push a button
It would have helped if Acura had sent a listing of voice commands with the car. You just have to figure this stuff out on your own...

I rarely use it, maybe it's my accent but it really pisses me off.
I use it to dial people from the address book, and some people it gets every time and some never at all.
Sometimes for audio commands...probably 2% of intended potential.

Use it all the time for audio and navigation, and telephone. Especially good for setting up nav points, or going to the trip computer to see how bad or good my mpg is.
Navigation, Street, (choose street), Street Number (say a string of numbers), OK
See post #6 for a quick summary of commands the system will understand

I used it for phone commands daily. I also used it for radio and climate controls when I needed to keep my hands on the wheel.
The GM system in the CTS-V suuuuuuuuucks, though, so I miss the RL's simplicity. Example, to make a phone call:
In the Acura.....
"Call *name*"....phone dials.
or..
"Dial xxx-xxx-xxxx"....phone dials.
In the CTS-V:
"Handsfree".....system says "Handsfree.....OK."
"Dial".......system says "Dial using *name of connected phone*. Number, please?"
"xxx-xxx-xxxx"....phone FINALLY dials.
or...
"Handsfree"...system says "Handsfree....OK"
"Call *name*".....system says "Call *name* using *name of connected phone*. Say 'yes' or 'no'."
"Yes".....phone dials.
Whoever came up with that interface should be shot. *banging head*

I use voice for dialing, but rarely any car commands. Only use it to impress friends by saying "Find nearest French restaurant".

i use mine often especially for entering long street addresses into my nav or to the nearest restaurants. I usually only use the climate control commands to impress someone. Most people are amazed when i say passenger temp 74 or what time is it or find nearest acura dealer.

There is also an index on the NAV screen. I don't recall exactly how to get there. I think if you hit the INFO button you can find it from there.
I ALWAYS use it for phone and destination. I find using the voice commands functions much faster than selecting each number and letter for an address.
I hardly use it for climate control and once in a while for the audio functions. especially if I want to select a radio station that I don't have stored in a preset.

For HFL, yes....mostly checking voice messages. On my way home from the office, I no longer stress in bumper to bumper traffic. I check my messages, get CNN news and make calender reminder entries so when I get home, my personal admin is done. The RL is my 'personal assistant'.
For NAVI / telematics, I use a select dozen commands regularly. But I also like to try out a new command once in awhile. I am often amused to find commands work that I did not expect to be part of the VC catalog. And sometimes a VC miss chuckles me.
It keeps the features new and fresh and I have not grown tired or too familiar with the RL as a result. This car engages me as a driver, but also on an intellectual level unlike any previous car I have owned.

I use it mostly for HFL and Nav. However, the climate control commands are convenient. I discovered 'Temperature Balance' via the help and that is a time saver when someone changes the temperature and I want to resync both temperatures again.
