Difference between A-spec and Tein, Mugen..etc suspension?

Would you guys recommend A-spec suspension over the likes of Tein, Mugen, or Amuse? Aside from the adjustable high of the latter suspensions, is the a-spec suspension better in terms of handling, or worse, or are they pretty much the same?

I'm trying to debate if I should get the a-spec one, but I'm not too sure because of amount of wheel gap it still leaves behind. I'm liking the idea of adjustable coilovers, but they cost a whole lot. But I mean, if a-spec give better handling and feedback, then I'll totally go with that.

what kind of ride are you looking for?

are just interested in the looks of it or want your car to handle better?

A-spec is a step above stock for a sportier feel and handling. Slightly stiffer springs and revelved struts are used.

a fully adjustable suspension is completely different from the Aspec. A very stiff by comparison linear spring is used along with comparably valved and shortend dampers. (well if its well made)

coilovers will perform nicely but offer a harsher ride than either OEM or Aspecs

I think Old Hatch is referring to the Tein suspension that is fully adjustable.

The only other springs I am aware as available for the 2G RL are the H&R springs, which drop the car more than the A-Spec coilover solution (1 1/2 inches vs. 3/4-1 inch for A-Spec).

I'm more for performance than looks. I was looking at the Mugen coilovers, and they drop the car 15mm, as opposed to the A-specs that drop it 19mm. So I might as well go with the A-specs, since it is approx. 900 dollars cheaper.

If it was between Amuse and Tein coilovers, I would probably go with Teins because of the price difference which is 1000 dollars. Amuse comes in at 3000~ish, and Teins at $2000. The thing about Teins is that I don't think they're made specifically for the RL, as opposed to Amuse or Mugen...so I'm not sure if there is an actual performance gain compared to A-specs, and ride quality. I am concerned about ride quality because the RL is supposed to be on the lux side.

I think I'm leaning more towards A-spec..

I thought about putting H&R springs w/ A-spec struts, but I don't like the thought of mixing the two because then I wouldn't know if I'll get the full performance that is to be had with a full A-spec setup. Because I would think the A-spec struts are specifically made for the spring constant the A-spec springs has.

Yeah I was talking about the fully adjustable ones.

I thought that they were available in Japan????

Japan has alot of love for Legends as far as aftermarket goes. There seems to be this underlying idea that we Legend drivers here in the US like floaty suspensions and would not appreciate or purchase fully adjustable suspension systems. Go figure. Maybe it has something to do with the "Image" of Acura here in the states.
